The World of Kinin
The Halflings of Kinin come from the country of Collanmere and have spread the continent over.
It appears that Halflings come in two distinct types, those who are home bodies, and those who’s insatiable curiosity drive them yonder.
The little folk are generally welcome everywhere, their love of all things natural and of good food and wine make them excellent companions and hosts. Lacking the industry of Gnomes or Dwarves halflings work with what they have and produce the best work they can. That is not to say that there are no industrious halflings, that is not true at all. But the canny halflings will work hard at more mercantile pursuits and have others do the hard labour for them.
Halflings are skilled artisans and work tirelessly to make things beautiful. They appreciate fine craftsmanship so much that they would never produce shoddy work.
In the magic academies they are lesser represented, but they are still strongly present. Far more than dwarves. There are more sorcerers than wizards however.
Many believe that halflings are drawn to the path of thievery and deception, and thus do not trust them. Particularly when facing a halfling across a merchants negotiating table. This is a natural but unwarranted progression from the naturally quiet nature of halflings and the cunning manner in which they conduct their business.
Halflings can be found from Pallum to Romulus and have spread wide from Gauille to Gnolin. They are farmers, brewers, merchants and carters. They seek adventure to further their pursuits and develop their skills.
